Misty morning in Busgrove Wood

Article text
Beech woods have a magical quality on a misty morning. I have a soft spot for the woods nearest to my house. I have walked these woods in every kind of weather possible and even in the pitch dark! On this morning in December the mist gave the woods a special quality, picking out the shapes of the beech tree trunks, some bent at odd angles, others crossing. I also like the sense of recession from the crisp detail of branches and leaves in the foreground to the misty shapes in the background and I think the use of monochrome enhances this. I hope my photograph invites you to walk into the wood.
