Late afternoon sun setting the tops of the trees ablaze by the Thames near Sonning. I made two trips to this bend in the river between Reading and Sonning on a beautifully clear frosty day, first thing in the morning and just before sunset, when this photograph was taken. Luckily for me the narrow boat was in exactly the right place for the photograph (the following day when I went back to take some more photos it was gone!) and I waited until the sun was just catching the tops of the trees to get the contrast with the shadows underneath. It was a beautiful sight
